  • Supported the Network Administration Group (NAG) and Workstation Administration Group (WAG), gaining hands-on exposure to enterprise networking, system monitoring, and end-user support.
  • Split time between proactive network monitoring and operational tasks — including switch and router configuration — within NAG, and direct, user-facing technical support within WAG.
  • Tracked and resolved issues through IT ticketing systems, applying customer service best practices across both groups.

  • Designed a segmented Azure virtual network (10.66.0.0/16) with an IP-restricted jumpbox, a private domain controller, and a NAT Gateway, administering private servers through a two-hop RDP chain.
  • Built an Active Directory forest (AD DS, DNS, OUs, security groups), joined Azure VMs to the domain, and synced on-premises users to Microsoft Entra ID with Entra Connect and Password Hash Sync.
  • Built an AD CS Enterprise Root CA with Group Policy auto-enrollment, and NPS/RADIUS with EAP-TLS, verified end to end with a RADIUS test client and NPS audit logs.
  • Configured Azure File Sync with cloud tiering, verifying a 200 MB file tiered to 0 bytes on disk and recalled on access, and restored files from share snapshots.
  • Implemented Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery, running a cross-region test failover that confirmed data integrity and role availability.
  • Worked around Azure for Students limits (Azure Policy region allow-list, SKU restrictions, zero vCPU quotas) using Azure CLI to find deployable VM sizes and regions.

  • Built and maintain a multi-service server environment on Proxmox, deploying and supporting Docker-containerized apps — installs, updates, backups, and outage diagnosis.
  • Run a personal DNS server to monitor traffic and block unwanted applications at the network level; configured firewall rules and secure remote access via WireGuard VPN.

Self-hosted WireGuard VPN for remote Proxmox access

  • Deployed a WireGuard VPN server on a Proxmox VE host for encrypted remote access to the hypervisor's management interface from outside the home network.
  • Configured a dedicated VPN subnet (10.10.10.0/24), key-based peer authentication, IP forwarding, and iptables NAT/masquerade rules.
  • Set up UDP port forwarding and firewall rules on a Verizon router to expose only the VPN endpoint, never the Proxmox web UI; tested a Windows client over a mobile hotspot.
  • Resolved a Wintun virtual adapter error and mismatched peer public keys using handshake status, client logs, and key verification.

  • Deployed an Ubuntu Server running the Apache HTTP Server, configured with a custom domain and IP-based access control to restrict incoming connections.
  • Set up Apache virtual hosts and DNS routing, then hardened the server against unauthorized access with firewall rules on top of Apache's own access controls; perform ongoing maintenance and patching.

  • Built a 6-node Raspberry Pi cluster wired over a dedicated switch, configured to emulate a small HPC environment with static IP addressing and SSH-based cluster management.
  • Diagnosed connectivity and configuration issues across the networked systems, from physical cabling to service-level configuration.

  • Led full-stack development of an interactive dashboard that automated previously manual daily data updates for the Office of the Comptroller, reducing repetitive reporting work.
  • Worked directly with non-technical staff to translate their needs into technical requirements, and documented the build for staff handoff and training.
